Position Summary
Hope Christian Academy is seeking a compassionate, creative, and dedicated High School Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom serving grades 9–12. This teacher will provide instruction in all core subject areas while adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet a wide range of academic and emotional needs. The ideal candidate is flexible, patient, and committed to modeling Christ-like character in daily interactions with students.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach all core academic subjects to a combined 9th–12th grade classroom:
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning styles and ability levels
• Create a structured, supportive classroom environment for students with emotional impairments
• Implement classroom management strategies rooted in consistency, grace, and respect
• Foster students’ academic growth alongside social-emotional development
• Maintain a small-class learning environment that provides individualized support
• Collaborate with staff and administration to support student success
• Integrate biblical principles and Christ-like values into classroom culture and interactions
• Model a lifestyle consistent with Christian values and biblical standards
Required Qualifications
• Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate (9-12)
• Ability to teach multiple subject areas at the high school level
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
• Creativity and flexibility in adapting lessons and materials
• Heart for working with students with emotional and behavioral needs
• Personal commitment to the Christian faith and ability to model Christ-like principles in a school setting
Preferred Qualifications
• Special Education Endorsement
• Experience working with students with emotional impairments or in therapeutic/alternative education settings
