PROLOGUE
The mission statement of Christ Presbyterian Church is: “Worship. Walk. Serve.” The position of Next Generation Ministry Associate equips the congregation of Christ Presbyterian Church to embody and live out the church’s mission statement that the Lord has provided. The role revolves around areas of worship on Sunday, children’s outreach ministries, and service to those inside and outside the congregation.
Christ Presbyterian Church is a growing congregation in the Treasure Valley and is located at the corner of State Street and Glenwood Street in Garden City.
PURPOSE
Provide general administrative assistance and outreach to Garden City through the Next Generation Ministries of Christ Presbyterian Church. The person must have a sincere desire to disciple the growing children and youth population of Christ Presbyterian Church into the image of Christ (Romans 5). This would be for children in elementary and middle school. The Ministry Associate must be a professing Christian with a commitment to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church’s Essentials of our Faith.

PRIMARY DUTIES / Job Responsibilities
I: Function – Sunday Mornings (9:00 A.M. to 12 P.M.) Each Week
a. Maintain “check ins” and “check outs” of participating children and youth on Sunday mornings.
b. Under the guidance of Pastor and Next Generation Leader, prepare lessons from already selected Sunday school material.
c. Prepare, assist, and lead Sunday school lessons.
d. Recruit Next Generation servers within the life of the church. Person will be responsible for maintaining a schedule and rotation.
e. Oversee Next Generation in service for the first fifteen minutes or so.
f. In the month of November and December, work with the Pastor, current Next Generation Leader, music director, and Next Generation team on the yearly Christmas Program.
II: Function – New Outreach
a. Work with the Pastor with designing and implementing a new outreach ministry for children or youth within the neighborhood of Garden City.
b. Maintain the administrative duties associated with new outreach ministry.
III: Fired Up Fridays - Quarterly Outreach Event
a. Work with the Pastor on planning and preparing and promoting quarterly Fired Up Friday events. The planned months are January, April, July, and October in 2026.
b. Maintain the administrative duties associated with Fired Up Friday’s events.
III: Function – Vacation Bible School
a. Plan and prepare yearly vacation bible school with the Pastor, current Leader for Next Generation Ministries, and Children’s Team. VBS could be in house or work with an existing ministry partner.
b. If more hours are needed than the normal 10 per week, compensation will be provided by the church.
IV: Office Hours – Staff Member
a. Attend weekly staff meetings on Wednesday mornings at 11 A.M. each week. Or weekly check in the Pastor.
b. Keep office hours at the church in order to accomplish administrative needs in the life of the church for Next Generation Ministries. Ideally this would be Wednesdays. Flexibility is possible as long as the person hits their hour requirement.
c. Maintain and document background clearances for those working with children.
d. Will receive a yearly performance review by the current Leader of Next Generation Ministries, Personnel Elder, and Pastor.
POSITION COMPENSATION
· Starting compensation for this position is $17.50 per hour plus 20 hours / year of paid time off, not to exceed two Sundays per year. Paid time off is with the approval of the Pastor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES REQUIRED
· Graduation from high school.
· Preferred experience in a church setting working with children and youth.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Basic computer skills.

PAY: $17.50 per hour
CLASSIFICATION: Part-time (10 hours per week)
POSITION STATUS: Exempt, not eligible for overtime
REPORTS TO: This position is supervised by the Pastor and accountable to the Session of Elders
SUPERVISES: This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
